It’s that time of year where us plus gals get to frock up for Melbourne’s hottest plus size fashion event, Curvy Couture Roadshow.
Curvy Couture Runway, as part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) Cultural Program, will showcase the best of what Australia has to offer from 19 Plus Size fashion designers.
This is your chance to experience the unrivalled buzz and excitement usually reserved for the fashion elite of Fashion Weeks around the world.
Unlike last years event, the organisers have spaced out the event giving attendees a whole extra day of fashion. On Sunday prepare yourself for a selection of exclusive pop-up shops and designer shopping from a handful of plus size brands selling their collections at reduced prices. What’s not to love?
Now this event is coordinated 100% by volunteers, those with a passion not only for fashion but to bring the plus size community together to celebrate our bodies as we are. So if you happen to come across one of the organisers, give them a big hug because they will probably need it.
With every person who comes to support the idea or the models or the designers, you contribute to the promotion of plus size bodies and design being a powerful force in the fashion world.
With every ticket bought, every post you share telling people to come along, you’re saying to the world that plus size fashion is every bit as beautiful, dazzling and wanted in the world as straight size fashion.
You’re supporting your own body shape, or your sisters, mothers and friends body shape, being seen as beautiful and worthy of wearing the clothes you want.

I don’t have a favourite as I am unaware of all these names and only accustomed to stores in shopping centred. It is rather a sad thing as I have been missing out on stylish clothing for a very long time because I forego those stores in centres because they not only look like tents, but many are not very fashionable 🙁 Suffice to say, I opt for ill-fitted clothing just to look ‘neat & stylish’.
So being able to attend the show would mean a whole bew world, not just for me but for my daughter who is bordering on the plus size and refusrs to wear what look like clothing for middle aged women.
In the meantime, I will browse through these names.
